This is your opportunity to own an authentic Tyrannosaurus rex tooth, the most iconic dinosaur of all time. Imagine holding this tooth in your hand. Envision the power of the living dinosaur that once had this tooth. Feel the serrated edges that cut through flesh and bone. Imagine the bone crushing force of its bite. Hold this tooth in your hand and know the terror its prey must have felt some 65 million years ago. Trex teeth had a long strong root making tooth and root when found together up to 15 inches long. Only 4-6 inches of the tooth protruded through the gum line.

Just about everyone knows the name Tyrannosaurus rex but did you know despite its fame Trex skeletons, teeth and bones are very rare with only about 50 known specimens complete enough to be considered “skeletons”. No complete skeletons have been found. The best yet is only 90% complete. The rest are considered partial skeletons with many missing bones. However perhaps hundreds of individual teeth and bones have been found in the badlands of Montana, North and South Dakota. It is theorized that these isolated teeth were lost during feeding while Trex was chomping on its meal. As big as they were Trex teeth could break when they bit into the bones of its prey. But don’t worry because Trex grew new teeth to replace the lost and broken ones.

Based on the largest and most complete skeleton yet found named Sue a large Trex would have measured 12.3 meters (40 feet) long, and was 3.66 meters (12 feet) tall at the hips, and according to the most recent studies estimated to have weighed between 8.4 metric tons to 14 metric tons when alive.
