Miocene Age 10 MYA
This is an example of the authentic Fossil Horse Tooth you will receive. This authentic fossil horse tooth was found in Baoji, Ganshu, China. Hipparion is an extinct genus of three-toed, medium-sized horse that lived about 10-5 million years ago. Hipparion was a mixed feeder who ate mostly grass and lived in the savannah biome. Hipparion evolved from Cormohipparion, and went extinct due to environmental changes like cooling climates and decreasing atmospheric carbon dioxide levels. Hipparion was typically medium in size, at about 1.4 m (4.6 ft) tall at the shoulder. The estimated body mass of Hipparion depends on the species, but ranges from about 135 to 200 kg (about 298 to 441 lbs).
